Young Man Released After 7 Months of Detention with His Father in Ibb

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

The Houthi group released a detainee yesterday evening, seven months after he was arrested alongside his father in Ibb Governorate (Central Yemen).

Activist Amin Al-Shafaq reported that the Houthi group released Engineer Hamza Al-Dumaini, the son of detainee Ahmed bin Naji Al-Dumaini, after seven months of imprisonment in one of the group’s detention centers in Ibb.

The report clarified that Hamza was arrested on July 7, 2025, following a raid on the family home—just three days after his father had been taken into custody.

The Houthi group launched a massive arrest campaign in Ibb mid-last year, resulting in the detention of dozens of individuals, including academics, educators, and doctors. According to a report by the Nobles Organization (Al-Nubala), released during a press conference in Marib, the Houthis have forcibly disappeared at least 99 detainees during this period.
