Yemen Monitor/Al-Ghaydah/Newsroom:
The General Electricity Corporation in Al-Mahrah Governorate announced a postponement to the regular electricity supply schedule due to the unavailability of sufficient fuel required to operate the power stations.
The administration confirmed that coordination efforts are ongoing between the corporation’s leadership, the local authority, and relevant bodies to secure the necessary fuel. This aims to stabilize the electricity situation and improve the quality of service provided to citizens.
In an official statement published by the Public Relations and Media Department, the Corporation apologized for this delay, which it stated was beyond its control. It stressed its ongoing commitment to working towards raising the level of services and alleviating the burdens on the governorate’s residents.
This development comes amid the challenges of resource scarcity and its direct impact on essential services in Al-Mahrah, as reported by local media sources today, December 6, 2025.
