Families of Victims in Taiz Demand Handover of Fugitive Perpetrators to the Western Coast

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:

Families of a number of victims in the city of Taiz organized a protest vigil in front of the governorate building on Tuesday, demanding the handover of accused individuals who have fled to areas on the Western Coast and the enforcement of the law against them.

The protesters raised banners condemning impunity, emphasizing that protecting wanted individuals in the Western Coast areas, particularly in the city of Mocha, constitutes a violation of justice and a stab at the authority of the law.

The protesters called on security and military entities to cooperate seriously in handing over the perpetrators and to ensure the achievement of justice and redress for the victims’ families.

The Western Coast areas are under the control of the Emirati-backed National Resistance Forces, led by Tariq Saleh, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and the nephew of the late Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
