Houthis Transfer Former Al-Aqsa Association Director in Ibb from Prison to Hospital as His Health Deteriorates

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Local sources in Ibb province (central Yemen) reported that Mohamed Marsh Al-Salami, the former director of the Al-Aqsa Association in the province and a detainee in Houthi prisons, has been transferred to the hospital after his health deteriorated and he fell into a coma.

The sources indicated that the Houthis moved Al-Salami from the Political Security prison to a hospital in Ibb city for the third time in the past two weeks, amid a media blackout regarding his worsening health condition.

Mohamed Marsh, who has been detained in Houthi prisons since last July 20, suffers from a pre-existing critical health condition. He experiences intermittent convulsive seizures and had undergone open-heart surgery three months before his arrest, according to human rights organizations.

The Houthi group launched a widespread arrest campaign in Ibb province during July and August of last year, which affected 120 citizens according to human rights reports.
