Boat Carrying a Ton of Narcotics Seized in Ras al-Ara, Lahj Governorate

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Joint security forces in the Al-Madhariba and Ras al-Ara districts of Lahj Governorate have seized a smuggling boat carrying one ton of various narcotics and arrested four smugglers who were on board.

The confiscated shipment included 536 packages of crystal meth (shabu), 100 bags of hashish, and 10 bags of heroin.

Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Muammar al-Eryani praised the operation, describing it as further evidence of the growing drug smuggling activities orchestrated by the Iran-backed Houthi militia.

Al-Eryani emphasized that the Houthi group continues to exploit the territories under its control, turning them into a regional hub for the captagon trade, posing a threat not only to Yemen’s security but also to regional and international stability.
