Houthis Claim Strikes on Israeli Military Targets in Negev and Eilat
Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
Yemen’s Houthi movement said Thursday it carried out two military operations targeting Israeli military sites in the Negev and Ramon Airport in Eilat, using a hypersonic ballistic missile and two drones. A third drone, the group claimed, struck another military target in the Negev.
In a statement, the Houthis’ military spokesperson said the operations “successfully achieved their objectives.”
Earlier in the day, air raid sirens sounded in the southern Israeli city of Eilat and in the Arava Valley and Be’er Ora areas, shortly after the Israeli military reported intercepting a drone launched from Yemen. The army later confirmed it had downed the drone but did not specify where. Hours earlier, Israeli defenses had intercepted a missile launched from Yemen toward southern Israel.
The attacks came a day after Israeli airstrikes on Sanaa and Al-Jawf province in northeast Yemen, which the Houthis said killed 35 people and wounded 131 others.
