Gunman Killed, Three Injured in Aden Shootout

A gunman was killed and three people, including a soldier from the Security Belt Forces, were injured in an exchange of fire that occurred yesterday evening in the Sheikh Othman district of the interim capital, Aden. The incident happened after a military patrol was targeted by gunmen on a motorcycle.
The Interior Ministry’s Security Media explained that two gunmen, (S.A.N.M., 16 years old) and (A.H.R.H., 20 years old), opened fire with a Chinese automatic weapon at a military patrol belonging to the Security Belt Forces. This resulted in a gunshot wound to the right thigh of a soldier, (A.S.A.M., 30 years old), and gunshot wounds to the left thigh of two civilians (18 and 23 years old).
The source indicated that the injured were taken to the Aden German Hospital for treatment and are in stable condition. One of the attackers was hit by a gunshot to the chest and was taken to Al-Naqib Hospital before he succumbed to his injuries. His body was placed in the morgue at Al-Sadaqa Hospital.
Police confirmed that the background of the incident was personal disputes. They stated that they have arrested one of the suspects and seized the weapon and motorcycle used in the crime. The search for the remaining individuals involved is ongoing to bring them to justice.
