Closure of Six Violating Pharmaceutical Companies and Referral to the Prosecutor in Taiz

The Violations Prosecution Office, in cooperation with the joint monitoring campaign in Taiz governorate, closed six pharmaceutical companies today after they were found in violation of the official pricing set by the local authority and the branch of the Supreme Authority for Medicines.
Deputy Governor for Health Affairs, Dr. Ilan Abdulhaq, stated that the companies shut down include: Cairo Mayas, Royal Pharma, Al-Afaq Jet, Al-Maitami Foundation, Vega Pharma, and Al-Noor Company, following their refusal to comply with official drug prices. She confirmed that their files have been referred to the Public Prosecution to complete legal procedures.
Dr. Ilan stressed that any manipulation or exploitation in medicine prices will be met with strict measures, affirming that local authorities will not tolerate violations in order to safeguard citizens’ right to obtain medicines at the officially set price.
She further explained that monitoring campaigns will continue regularly to regulate the pharmaceutical market and ensure price stability, protecting citizens from any monopolistic or illegal practices.
