This came on the first day of the campaign, conducted in cooperation with the local district authorities.

Ahmed Al-Obadi, Director-General of the Public Health and Population Office, and Saleh Jaradan, Director of Al-Wadi district, explained that the campaign aims to regulate the pharmaceutical market, eliminate violations, and ensure that medical and pharmaceutical facilities comply with official price lists and professional practice regulations in order to safeguard citizens’ health and safety.

The officials confirmed that the inspection campaign will continue on a daily basis, and that any violating facility will be immediately referred to the judiciary for legal action. They stressed the importance of citizens reporting pricing violations or issues related to medical supplies.

For his part, Adel Al-Qarda’i, Director-General of the local branch of the Supreme Authority for Medicines, stated that the campaign resulted in the seizure of smuggled, counterfeit, and expired drugs, as well as the closure of pharmacies that committed multiple violations.
