Marib Local Authorities Raise Preparedness in Anticipation of Floods

On Saturday, the local authority in Marib governorate instructed district directors and the head of the Executive Unit for IDPs to raise maximum alert and full readiness to confront any emergencies that may result from floods and torrential rains.

The authority called on all concerned agencies to prepare all available equipment and machinery and ensure their readiness for field operations. It also ordered the immediate clearing and cleaning of flood channels of dirt and debris that might obstruct the flow of water or alter its course.

It further emphasized the need to warn displaced persons and host communities against being in valleys and flood streams and to exercise the utmost caution. The media director was tasked with preparing and disseminating awareness messages through all official and unofficial platforms, including necessary instructions and warnings for citizens and IDPs.

The local authority stressed that each entity would be held accountable for any negligence and requested an urgent report within 24 hours detailing the measures taken.
