Meteorology: Continued Atmospheric Instability in Yemen

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast continued rainfall of varying intensity, accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, across much of the country.
Numerical models and weather maps indicate an intensification and expansion of the state of atmospheric instability, likely to affect several regions.
The impact will include the western coastal governorates and Tihama plain, with expected rainfall from Hajjah in the north down to Taiz in the south.
Rainfall is also expected to extend over the chain of western mountain ranges and the inland highlands, covering the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Mahweet, Amran, Sanaa, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Al-Bayda, Dhalea, Taiz, and Lahj.
Southern coasts and adjacent inland areas will also be affected, in addition to the governorates of Al-Jawf, Marib, Shabwah, Hadramawt, and Al-Mahrah.
The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning warned citizens and drivers of the dangers of being in valleys and flood channels, as well as exposure to thunderstorms, urging adherence to safety measures.
It also advised citizens to beware of soil erosion, rockslides, unstable slopes, strong downdrafts, hail, and reduced visibility on roads and mountain highlands due to heavy clouds, rainfall, and the formation of fog or mist.
The center called on relevant authorities to take the necessary precautionary measures to protect lives and property.
