UN Report: Financial Crisis Threatens Lives of Millions of Women in Yemen Due to Lack of International Funding

Yemen Monitor/Newsroom:
The health sector in Yemen faces unprecedented challenges that put the lives of thousands of women at risk, amidst the deteriorating humanitarian conditions that have persisted for years.
A recent UN report revealed grave dangers facing more than seven million Yemeni women, who may be deprived of basic medical services due to a lack of funding.
Data released by the United Nations Population Fund showed that 600,000 women are at risk of losing life-saving obstetric care, which increases maternal mortality rates.
The international organization expressed its deep concern over the disappearance of safe spaces designated for women and the deterioration of protection systems at a time when psychological and medical support is urgently needed.
The Fund’s statement included a clear warning about the consequences of the collapse of the health system, considering medical services not a luxury but a lifeline for victims.
The UN organization stressed the need for immediate action from international donors to bridge the funding gap and maintain reproductive health and psychological relief programs.
