Al-Khanbashi Opens New Development Projects and Security Equipment in Mukalla to Enhance Hadramawt Coast Police Readiness

On Sunday, in the city of Mukalla, Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, inaugurated a number of development projects, along with security equipment and vehicles belonging to the Security and Police Directorate of the Hadramawt Coast, as part of efforts to strengthen the province’s infrastructure and security readiness.

The inauguration took place in the presence of the Deputy Governor for Defense and Security Affairs, Saleh Al-Ahmadi, the Deputy Governor for Technical Affairs, Zaher bin Khawar Al-Kathiri, and the Commander of the Arab Coalition Forces in Hadramawt and Al-Mahrah, Badr Al-Otaibi, alongside senior security and military leaders.

Al-Khanbashi reviewed the completed projects and their implementation phases, listening to an explanation from the leadership of the Coast Security and Police regarding the components of the project. The initiative aims to develop security facilities, improve the working environment, and raise the operational readiness of security agencies to enhance security and stability.

During the opening ceremony, Al-Khanbashi stated that developing the security institution represents one of the fundamental pillars for strengthening the state’s prestige and maintaining the security achievements accomplished in Hadramawt. He emphasized the local authority’s continued support for security agencies to raise their operational efficiency.

He pointed out that infrastructure rehabilitation, personnel training, and regular salary payments are all factors that contribute to improving the performance of security agencies, expressing his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous support to the security institutions in the province.

He also called for continued security vigilance and professional engagement with citizens in light of the current challenges facing the country.

For his part, the Director General of the Hadramawt Coast Security and Police, Brigadier General Abdulaziz Al-Jabri, said that launching the first phase of the rehabilitation projects, alongside receiving new security and military vehicles and equipment, will enhance the readiness and field capabilities of the security forces.

He added that the administration has deployed additional patrols to secure the activities of the Al-Balda tourist season, contributing to enhanced security for both citizens and visitors.

Al-Jabri praised the support of the local authority, the Ministry of Interior, and Saudi Arabia, noting that this backing heavily contributed to the execution of these development projects.

The first phase of the project includes the rehabilitation and furnishing of the Hadramawt Coast Security and Police Directorate, the development of the main gate and external courtyards, the rehabilitation of the camp command buildings, the construction of a temporary detention room, maintenance of the sewage network, and the rehabilitation of the kitchen and dining hall, in addition to maintenance work on the officers’ and special forces’ residential quarters.

The second phase includes the rehabilitation of the general administration building, the installation of a solar energy system, the rehabilitation of the security forces’ health center, the construction of an additional floor for the command and control building, the rehabilitation of the conference hall, the restoration of the civil defense building, the rehabilitation of housing for officers and personnel, and the establishment of a modern archive, all within a plan to develop the institutional infrastructure of the security agencies on the Hadramawt  Coast.
