Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Hadramawt, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, received today in Mukalla the document titled “Hadramawt… Vision and Decision,” which emerged from a workshop organized by the National Democratic Institute (NDI). The workshop saw broad participation from representatives of political parties, political forces, civil society organizations, women, and youth, in a step aimed at formulating a unified Hadrami vision toward any upcoming political conference or dialogue.
The document was handed over by several representatives of the workshop participants, who stated that it had been prepared through a participatory methodology based on dialogue and consensus among various Hadrami components. They said the document reflects the aspirations of the people of Hadramawt and strengthens the governorate’s presence in any future political negotiations or dialogues.
Participants explained that the document represents a unified framework for defending Hadramawt’s political and developmental rights and seeks to unify the Hadrami position regarding national issues, ensuring effective and fair participation in shaping the country’s future.
Al-Khanbashi listened to a briefing on the document’s key contents, the mechanism used in its preparation, and the level of consensus achieved during the discussion and drafting stages. The document was described as an advanced step toward strengthening rapprochement and partnership among various political and social forces and components in Hadramawt.
The Presidential Leadership Council member praised the efforts made to complete the document and the spirit of consensus that prevailed throughout the workshop’s activities, stressing that unifying visions and positions is essential for strengthening Hadramawt’s interests and consolidating its presence in various national forums.
Al-Khanbashi also emphasized the importance of involving all parties and social components in shaping Hadramawt’s future in a way that fulfills the aspirations of its people for security, stability, development, and fair representation. He affirmed that the current stage requires prioritizing dialogue, understanding, and joint action to build a cohesive vision that expresses the will of the people of Hadramawt and safeguards their rights and historical and developmental gains.
