Houthis And the Tribes of Al-Jawf… Armed Mobilization In “Al-Yatmah” Insists on Its Demands And Rejects The Group’s Statement

Yemen Monitor / Al-Jawf / Special:

Armed tribal crowds from the Dham tribe continued to flock for the second consecutive day to the “Al-Yatmah” area, north of Al-Jawf governorate, in response to a wide-scale “tribal summons” demanding the release of Sheikh Hamad bin Fadgham Al-Hazmi and a woman seeking his protection whose home was seized by a Houthi leader. This follows the expiration of a deadline set by the tribes for the Houthi  group.

In response to these tribal movements, the Houthi-affiliated Ministry of Interior in Sana’a issued a statement presenting a different narrative, claiming that genetic testing proved the woman’s claim of being the daughter of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein (Mira) was false, and that her real name is “Sumaya Al-Zubairi.”

In turn, prominent figures from Al-Jawf responded to the Houthi statement, affirming that “all statements published by the Houthis do not concern the tribes in any way, and that the demand is clear and specific: the release of Sheikh Hamad bin Fadgham and those with him without any conditions.”

The figures added, “The group’s tactics and justifications can only be interpreted as a form of intransigence and a challenge to the ancestors, customs, and traditions of the Yemeni tribe.” They called for the immediate release of the detainees before any talk of fair solutions that preserve the tribe’s dignity and traditions.
