Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
Police in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital, announced that the Specialized Criminal Court will begin the first trial session on Sunday morning for the suspects involved in the assassination of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shaer, head of Al-Nouras Schools and a leader in the Al-Islah Party.
In a statement, the police said the court hearings would reveal new names and individuals linked to assassination operations as part of ongoing legal and judicial procedures against all those involved.
The police confirmed that security agencies had exerted intensive efforts over the past period, resulting in the pursuit and arrest of several suspects. They also called on media outlets, public opinion, and interested observers to follow the trial proceedings and support the transparency approach adopted by state institutions, according to the statement.
Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Shaer was assassinated on April 25 in the Al-Mansoura district in central Aden. Security forces later arrested six suspects who reportedly confessed to carrying out the assassination.
