Yemen on Friday condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque compound by a minister in the Israeli occupation government accompanied by settlers under the protection of Israeli forces, describing it as “a blatant violation of international law and a provocation to the feelings of Muslims.”
In a statement, Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said it “condemns and denounces the actions of a minister in the Israeli occupation government, accompanied by a number of settlers, in storming the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of occupation forces.”
The statement added that the move represents “a flagrant violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, as well as a systematic provocation of the feelings of Muslims around the world.”
The Yemeni Foreign Ministry reaffirmed “the Republic of Yemen’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the brotherly Palestinian people to obtain all of their legitimate rights.”
It also stressed support for the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.
