Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

A joint security and military campaign was launched Thursday evening in the city of Taiz (southwestern Yemen) aimed at enhancing security, seizing weapons, and pursuing wanted individuals.

According to the security media office in Taiz, the campaign includes units from all security branches, military police, and units from the national army. It is carrying out a wide deployment by establishing checkpoints and static and mobile patrols to ensure the implementation of the comprehensive security plan.

The campaign commander, Major Ibrahim Al-Nu’man, stated that the primary objective of the campaign is to regulate the carrying of weapons and reduce random armed manifestations, in addition to pursuing and apprehending security-wanted individuals and those who are outside the system and the law, thereby contributing to solidifying the state’s authority.

Al-Nu’man added that security and military agencies will continue their deployment and field movements in the coming days until the pillars of stability are firmly established and public reassurance is enhanced among the population. He stressed that operations are being carried out according to an organized and well-studied plan to ensure all security objectives are achieved with high efficiency.
