Yemen and Djibouti Sign Memorandum of Understanding to Enhance Cooperation in Communications and Digital Transformation

Yemen and Djibouti today signed a Memorandum of Understanding in the fields of communications, information technology, and digital transformation, aimed at building a sustainable strategic partnership between the two brotherly countries.

The signing took place in the Djiboutian capital between the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation and Acting Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Wa’ed Badheeb, and the Djiboutian Minister of Information, acting as Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Ridwan Bahdon, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.

The memorandum focuses on the exchange of technical expertise, the development of digital infrastructure, and supporting innovation in the communications sector, paving the way for a digital renaissance that serves the interests of the two peoples and keeps pace with global developments in modern technology.

The two ministers affirmed that this agreement represents a starting point towards broader cooperation in the fields of digital transformation and economic integration, noting that the two countries have promising opportunities to build an effective partnership network in the fields of communications, information, and digital services.

The signing of the memorandum comes within the framework of the Yemeni government’s efforts to expand its regional and international relations and support its endeavors to develop the communications sector and build a digital infrastructure capable of keeping pace with the future.

The signing ceremony was attended by the Yemeni Ambassador to Djibouti, Abdullah Al-Saqatri, the Executive Director of “Aden Net,” Engineer Mansour Al-Walidi, the CEO of “Telemen,” Abdulsalam Al-Salafi, and from the Djiboutian side, the Djiboutian Ambassador to Yemen, Mohamed Issa, and the Director of the Arab World Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mohamed Dawalah.
