Pakistan wishes to increase cooperation with Yemen

Pakistan stated on Friday that it wishes to explore ways of cooperation with Yemen in various sectors such as education.

This came during a meeting between Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his Yemeni counterpart Dr. Shai’a Mohsen Al-Zindani on the sidelines of the fifteenth Islamic Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Banjul, Gambia.

Mohammad Ishaq Dar expressed Pakistan’s desire to explore ways of cooperation with Yemen in various sectors such as education.

The Deputy Prime Minister also reaffirmed Pakistan’s initial support for national reconciliation and political transition in Yemen.

The two leaders also discussed the situation in Gaza and emphasized the urgent remedial measures taken by the international community to halt the escalation, according to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

They called on the United Nations Security Council to consider additional measures against Israel to ensure an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and a permanent resolution to the Palestinian issue.
