Yemeni government accuses Al-Houthis of obstructing a consultation round of prisoners and abductees exchange

On Wednesday, The Yemeni government “which is internationally recognized ”  accused Al- Houthi and his supporters of blocking a new round of consultations on the exchange of prisoners and abductees that was scheduled to start this month in the capital city of Jordan “Amman”.

And as said by Mr Yahya Kazman, the deputy head of the government delegation negotiating on prisoners and abductees, in a post on his account on X:

“Once again, Al-Houthi  proves that he is deliberately prolongs the suffering of thousands of abductees, prisoners and their families”.

“Last November, Al-Houthi impeded the holding of negotiations in Switzerland and now they are impeding it again in Jordan,” he added.

“Also he talks in behalf of the people, about their issues and constants,” he said, adding that “the international community and the United Nations face a moral and historical responsibility,” according to him.

For his part, the undersecretary of the Ministry of human rights and a member of the government negotiating team on detainees and prisoners, Majid Fadel, said: “the holding of the round of negotiations of prisoners and abductees in Jordan was postponed indefinitely after the Houthi intransigence and obstruction of this meeting, which was scheduled this week after impeding the holding of the round scheduled last November in Switzerland”.

In a post on X, Fadel considered this  continuation of  practices committed by Al-Houthi militias against the Yemeni people and their exploitation of humanitarian issues politically and in the media, Throwing behind his back  any moral obligations or responsibility  towards prisoners ,abductees and their families.
