Both Turkey and Pakistan condemned the threats issued by the Houthi group toward Saudi Arabia, along with the allegations it contained, which they described as false, regarding a blockade of Yemen by the Kingdom.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today, Ankara renewed its solidarity with Riyadh in the face of Houthi threats, emphasizing the necessity of an immediate halt to actions and threats that endanger maritime security and freedom of navigation in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
Turkey called for “avoiding any actions that would escalate the existing tension in the region.”
In the same context, Pakistan condemned in the strongest terms the threats issued by the Houthi group against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued today: “These practices threaten regional security and stability, undermine freedom of navigation, and endanger global trade movement.”
It added: “Threats targeting commercial ships or trade traffic with the Kingdom are ‘unacceptable’ and represent a violation of the principles of international law and maritime order.”
The Pakistani Foreign Ministry expressed its deep concern regarding reports speaking of threats affecting vessels engaged in legitimate trade activities with the Kingdom, calling for respect for international law and ensuring the security and safety of international maritime navigation.
