Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council Member Al-Aradah Calls for Accelerating Economic Reforms

Member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, Sultan Al-Aradah, called for moving forward with economic and financial reforms and enhancing the efficiency of public resource management as part of government efforts to support economic stability and improve institutional performance.

The remarks came during a meeting chaired by Al-Aradah, who also serves as the governor of Marib Governorate, with the head and members of the Joint Economic Committee from the Central Bank and the Ministry of Finance. The meeting reviewed mechanisms for implementing the government’s economic reform priorities and assessed the level of coordination among relevant institutions.

Participants discussed ways to implement Presidential Leadership Council Decision No. 11 of 2025 concerning economic and financial reforms, including measures to strengthen public revenues, improve revenue collection efficiency, and enhance the financial and administrative performance of state institutions.

Al-Aradah stressed the importance of addressing shortcomings and imbalances in financial and administrative operations, emphasizing the need to adhere to procedures that promote transparency, financial discipline, and the proper transfer of revenues in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

He also instructed local authorities in Marib to provide the necessary support to the Joint Economic Committee and facilitate its work, contributing to the implementation of the reform program and the achievement of its economic and development objectives.
