Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Four children were killed and eight others were injured, including critical cases, in Al-Dhalea Governorate (central Yemen) following the explosion of an object left behind by the Houthi group.

Local sources told “Yemen Monitor” that an explosive object from the remnants of the Houthi group detonated in the village of “Al-Reibi” in the “Hajar” area, north of Al-Dhalea Governorate, leading to the death and injury of 12 children.

According to the sources, the initial toll of the incident resulted in the martyrdom of 4 children (three girls and one boy), in addition to the injury of 8 other children with varying wounds, the condition of some of whom was described as critical. Their ages range between 6 and 14 years old.

The sources pointed out that the area had been seized by the Houthi group before being reclaimed by the Joint Forces, noting that most of the wounded and injured were rushed to the “Sanah” field hospital.

The spokesperson for the Al-Dhalea military axis, Fouad Jabari, described the incident as a “humanitarian tragedy,” considering it an extension of the series of crimes and catastrophic effects left behind by Houthi mines and unexploded ordnance.
