Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The General Authority for the Regulation of Land Transport announced on Friday the completion of the transportation and dispatch operations for Yemeni pilgrims traveling by land through the Al-Wadiah border crossing for the 1447 AH Hajj season, after all scheduled trips were carried out successfully and smoothly.
The authority explained that the operation included 325 overland trips transporting 11,526 male and female pilgrims from various governorates to the holy sites, without any significant obstacles reported during the transport and dispatch process.
The chairman of the authority, Fares Ahmed Shaafal, confirmed that the operation was implemented according to a precise timetable and in coordination with the relevant authorities, with full adherence to safety and comfort standards for the pilgrims throughout both the departure and return journeys.
He pointed out that the authority deployed a modern fleet of buses through international transport companies, in addition to operating field teams in Aden, Taiz, Mukalla, Seiyun, Al-Abr, and Al-Wadiah, all connected to a central operations room in Aden to monitor the trips in real time and respond immediately to any issues.
Shaafal noted that the success of the season was the result of early planning and integrated efforts among various agencies, affirming that the authority will begin reviewing performance indicators and evaluating the experience in order to improve transportation services for the next Hajj season.
The authority’s chairman also expressed gratitude to Transport Minister Mohsen Haidara Al-Amri, the Ministry of Endowments and Guidance, the relevant authorities in Saudi Arabia, as well as the security, health, and service agencies and transport companies for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the operation.
