Authorities Arrest Undocumented Migrants Carrying Narcotics in Al Mahrah, Eastern Yemen

Security authorities in Al Mahrah Governorate, eastern Yemen, arrested undocumented Ethiopian migrants found in possession of a quantity of narcotic pills during a security operation carried out by the police in Shahan District.

In a statement, the district police said that a security force raided a site used as a shelter for undocumented migrants within the district, as part of campaigns aimed at combating illegal activities linked to some irregular migration gatherings.

The statement added that the operation resulted in the arrest of several individuals, who were found carrying more than 1,050 narcotic pills. Legal measures were taken against them in preparation for referring them to the relevant authorities.

The police confirmed that their security campaigns to pursue illegal activities will continue, stressing that they will deal firmly with any practices that threaten the security and stability of the community.
