Yemeni Youth Team Turns the Tables on UAE With Thrilling 3-2 Victory in Asian Championship

The Yemeni national youth team achieved an exciting victory over their UAE counterparts, winning 3-2 in a strong match within the Asian Championship currently being held in Saudi Arabia.

The UAE team opened the scoring in the 25th minute through player Hussein Yousef, before the Yemeni team got back into the game with an equalizer via an own goal, after UAE defender Ali Al-Mughdi made an error in clearing the ball and sent it into his own net.

In the second half, the Yemeni team managed to take the lead with a second goal from a penalty kick successfully converted by player Basheer Saylan in the 51st minute. However, the UAE team brought the match back to a draw again through Salem Jamal, who scored a header from a corner kick in the 61st minute.

Just as the match seemed headed for a draw, forward Mohamed Sadiq snatched the winning goal for Yemen in the 85th minute, following an organized attack and precise passes that he finished into the UAE net, granting the “Little Red” an important victory that boosted their chances ahead of the upcoming match against South Korea next Wednesday.

Saudi Arabia is hosting the tournament from May 5 to 25, with the participation of Asia’s top youth teams. Yemen is playing in Group C alongside the UAE, South Korea, and Vietnam.
