Al-Mahra Security Arrests a Wanted Suspect and Five Others in Possession of Drugs in Al-Ghaydah

Security forces in Al-Mahra Governorate arrested six individuals in the city of Al-Ghaydah during a joint security operation carried out by the intelligence units of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Anti-Narcotics Department, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance security and stability in the governorate.
A security source told the official Yemeni News Agency that one of the detainees was wanted in connection with a theft case, while preliminary procedures revealed that the other five were in possession of narcotic substances intended for personal use. The source confirmed that the necessary legal measures had been taken against them and that they were referred to the relevant authorities to complete investigations in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
The source emphasized that security personnel from the intelligence units, Criminal Investigation Department, and Anti-Narcotics Department continue their intensive efforts to track down and apprehend suspicious elements and fugitives from other governorates who seek to carry out criminal activities. He noted that such activities typically increase with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan and holiday seasons.
The source added that this operation is part of a coordinated security plan aimed at reinforcing public tranquility, stressing the continuation of security campaigns and preventive programs to combat crime in all its forms, thereby helping to safeguard community security and the safety of citizens.
