Commitments Prevent the New Minister of Higher Education from Taking the Constitutional Oath

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:

Dr. Amin Noman Mohammed Al-Qadasi, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the newly formed Yemeni government, was absent from the constitutional oath ceremony held today at the Yemeni Embassy in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Yemeni journalist Fares Al-Hemyari said he contacted Minister Al-Qadsi, who explained that he is currently in Taiz Governorate and has commitments that prevented him from attending the oath-taking ceremony, without disclosing the main reasons for his absence.

This comes as the rest of the cabinet members—33 ministers—took the constitutional oath before the Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, in accordance with the established constitutional procedures.

Amin Al-Qadasi is the brother of Abdullah Noman Al-Qadasi, Secretary General of the Nasserist Organization. He holds a PhD in Geophysics from Ain Shams University (2002) and was appointed Minister of Higher Education in the new cabinet, succeeding Minister Khaled Al-Wasabi.
