The Yemeni Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the United Nations’ decision to relocate the official office of the Resident Coordinator from Sana’a to the interim capital, Aden, considering the move an important shift that will enhance the UN’s ability to serve the Yemeni people more effectively.
In its statement, the ministry called on all UN agencies, funds, and programs to take similar steps by transferring their offices and country representatives to Aden, affirming the government’s full readiness to cooperate with all UN bodies to ensure the continued flow of humanitarian aid to those in need across all governorates.
The ministry stressed its commitment to providing the necessary facilities to protect UN staff and humanitarian workers, in accordance with international agreements and humanitarian law.
