Iran Vows Houthi “Revenge” Against Israel
Yemen Monitor / Tehran / Exclusive:
Military and civilian institutions in Iran have vowed a major revenge for the Houthis following the assassination of the group’s government in Sana’a, the capital.
In a statement, the Iranian army wished the Houthis “more success in confronting the Israelis” and stated, “The malicious Zionist regime has once again shown its brutal, criminal, and inhumane nature.” The statement asserted that “the international community now realizes more than ever that this rogue and criminal [Israeli] regime poses a serious threat to humanity.”
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement on Sunday that the Islamic resistance forces in the region, particularly in Yemen, “will deliver an overwhelming response to the Zionist criminals.” It added that the assassination of the Yemeni prime minister signals a dangerous escalation by Israel, aimed at deterring regional actors from opposing its genocidal campaign in Gaza.
The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) described Israel’s attack, which led to the death of Houthi Information Minister Hashem Sharaf al-Din, as a “war crime” and a “blatant violation of all humanitarian conventions.”
Sources told “Yemen Monitor” that at least 10 ministers, in addition to Houthi Prime Minister Ahmad Ghalib al-Rahwi, were killed in the Israeli occupation’s attack on Sana’a last Thursday, August 28.
