Yemeni Ministry of Defense: Targeting the Runway of Sana’a Airport to Prevent an Iranian Plane from Landing

The Yemeni Ministry of Defense said that the armed forces targeted the runway of Sana’a airport, with the aim of preventing an Iranian plane from landing at the airport.

The ministry added, in a statement, that the Houthi group “prevented the Yemeni national aviation from landing at the capital’s Sana’a airport, and insisted on allowing the Iranian plane to violate the territory of the Republic of Yemen,” as it put it.

It explained that the targeting of the airport runway came “to prevent the Iranian plane from landing,” accusing the Houthi group of being “backed by the Iranian regime.”
