From Sana’a to Tehran: Organized Digital Campaign Targets Saudi Arabia on “X”

Yemen Monitor / Newsroom:
The “Musnad” fact-checking platform has revealed an organized digital campaign targeting Saudi Arabia via the hashtag #Saudi_Tools_of_Zionism on the “X” platform. The platform confirmed that the activity bears clear indicators of prior coordination and cross-border operation, far removed from natural user interaction.
In an analysis covering approximately 3,000 posts, the platform explained that the campaign reached an estimated 7.5 million users. The data showed a clear dominance of negative content at 64.6%, compared to only 1.8% for positive content—reflecting, according to the report, a propagandistic and inflammatory nature.
The analysis pointed out that the digital activity was geographically concentrated in Yemen, while also detecting what the report described as a “striking technical hotspot” in the Iranian capital, Tehran. This was considered an indicator of external support in digital amplification operations.
According to the findings, the campaign originated from accounts linked to areas in Sana’a and Sa’ada before receiving additional momentum through systematic amplification from outside the borders. The report also highlighted the use of visual content described as “security confessions” as a propaganda tool within the context of a coordinated political attack.
The “Musnad” platform concluded that the synchronized timing of the posts, the identical nature of the content, and the centralized role of influential accounts reinforce the hypothesis that the campaign is managed via digital operation rooms. It emphasized that what occurred does not reflect natural public interaction, but rather falls under patterns of digital disinformation and the manufacturing of directed impressions via social media platforms.
