The General Foundation for the Cultural Village “Katara” crowned the winners of the seventh edition of the “Katara Prize for Prophet’s Poet” during a ceremony held at the Opera House in the Cultural Village.
Yemeni poet Jabr Ali Nasr Ba’adani won first place in the Classical Poetry category for his poem, receiving a monetary award of one million Qatari riyals.
Egyptian poet Sherif Abdelmohsen won second place for his poem, and received 600,000 Qatari riyals.
Meanwhile, Yemeni poet Walid Al-Shawagbah secured third place for his poem, and was awarded 300,000 Qatari riyals.
Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti, General Manager of the Katara Cultural Village Foundation, honored the six winning poets in the competition.
Yemen’s Ambassador to Qatar, Rajeh Badi, congratulated the two Yemeni poets, Walid Al-Shawagbah and Jabr Ba’adani, on their victory in the competition.
Badi noted that this recognition represents a distinguished Yemeni presence in one of the most prominent poetry competitions celebrating the art of praising the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
