Yemeni Army Reinforces Deployment on The International Highway Between Marib and Hadramawt

The Yemeni army on Saturday, reinforced the deployment of its forces on the international highway connecting Marib and Hadramawt (eastern Yemen) to enhance security measures and combat smuggling.
The Army’s Media Center stated that forces from the Seventh Military Region took over the military checkpoints and sites along the international highway, contributing to the protection of citizens, ensuring the smooth flow of movement, and maintaining security and stability.
It noted that military commanders confirmed the ongoing execution of the security tasks assigned to the Seventh Military Region, in accordance with approved plans to enhance security and protect public interests.
Military sources said that the Seventh Region took over the sites and checkpoints located in the sector extending from the “Al-Ruwaik” area east of Marib Governorate, to the “Al-Tariq Complex” west of Al-Abar District in Hadramawt, assuming responsibility for securing a sector of the “Ghuwayrban” international highway, where branches of the Military Police were previously stationed.
The sources stated that the handover process was supervised by the Assistant Minister of Defense, Major General Rukun Rashid Atiq, and the Commander of the Seventh Military Region, Major General Rukun Mohammed Rassam Al-Muntasir.
The forces initiated their field deployment immediately in accordance with approved military procedures to enhance integration between units and raise the level of readiness and vigilance.
The deployment aims to reinforce security measures and protect petroleum derivatives transport lines from any acts of sabotage, ensuring the smooth movement of travelers and commercial trucks between the two governorates.
