The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Yemen, Dr. Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani, met on Sunday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly to discuss bilateral relations and recent developments in the region.
The official Saba News Agency reported that the two sides discussed ways to develop the historical ties between the two countries and coordinate positions regarding shared regional challenges, foremost among them the security of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, and the threats posed by the Houthi group to international navigation and regional security.
During the meeting, Al-Zindani emphasized the importance of building on the outcomes of the strategic dialogue between the two countries to open broader horizons for cooperation.
He noted the government’s aspiration to convene the joint high committee chaired by the prime ministers of the two countries, aiming to activate cooperation pathways, particularly in the economic sphere and expanding partnerships between the private sectors of both countries, highlighting the common ties and interests imposed by geography and shared belonging to the Red Sea region.
For his part, the Egyptian Prime Minister welcomed the Yemeni official and his accompanying delegation, affirming his country’s pride in its fraternal relations with Yemen and its keenness to enhance bilateral cooperation in the coming period.
Madbouly reiterated Egypt’s steadfast position regarding the Yemeni crisis, which consists of supporting the legitimate government and full commitment to Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of joint coordination to confront the challenges posed by current regional developments.
