Arrangements to Hand Over Security Tasks of Al-Mahra Ports and Government Facilities to “Nation’s Shield” Forces

As part of the implementation of high-level directives to enhance security and stability in Al-Mahra Governorate, the Shahin land border crossing and Nashtoon seaport witnessed a series of field meetings and inspection visits today. These sessions were dedicated to discussing arrangements for the Nation’s Shield Forces (Dir’ al-Watan) to take over the tasks of securing and protecting ports, government facilities, and vital outlets, ensuring an organized and smooth transition of security and military responsibilities.

At the Shahin land crossing, the Director General of Shahin District, Sheikh Mohammed bin Mohammed Zaabanout, along with the Director General of Shahin Port, Mr. Musallam Saeed Zaabanout, and several security and military leaders, received the Commander of the Nation’s Shield campaign in Al-Mahra, Captain Nasser Salem Zaabanout. Following the arrival of a battalion from the Nation’s Shield Forces, an expanded meeting was held to discuss the mechanism for the handover, patrol organization, and joint work arrangements to ensure the execution of tasks without disruption.

The Director General of Shahin District emphasized that the arrival of the Nation’s Shield Forces follows the directives of the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and the Governor of Al-Mahra, Mohammed Ali Yasser, to bolster security under the current circumstances. He stressed the necessity of handing over gates, equipment, and weapons in an organized manner.

Simultaneously, at Nashtoon seaport, the First Deputy Governor of Al-Mahra, Brigadier General Dr. Mukhtar bin Owaid al-Jaafari, accompanied by the Deputy Governor for Public Relations, Mr. Mohammed Mohsen Raafit, held a joint meeting with the leadership of the port, customs, the oil company, and security agencies. The meeting aimed to review the security arrangements following the Nation’s Shield Forces’ takeover of protection duties.

Deputy Governor Al-Jaafari was briefed on the security measures and the coordination mechanism through the joint operations room to ensure unified efforts and uninterrupted maritime and service movement. He praised the spirit of cooperation between the various agencies and emphasized the local authority’s support for protecting sovereign facilities.

The visit concluded with a field tour of Nashtoon Port and a maritime tour of the port’s perimeter to inspect the deployment of naval forces and coast guards. Al-Jaafari praised the high readiness and morale of the Nation’s Shield Forces, reaffirming the local authority’s commitment to providing the necessary support to enhance operational capabilities and protect national interests.
