President Al-Alimi Orders UAE Forces to Withdraw from Yemeni Territory Within 24 Hours

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council Rashad Al-Alimi has issued a presidential decree terminating the joint defense agreement with the United Arab Emirates, calling on Emirati forces to withdraw completely from Yemen within 24 hours.
This decision comes within the Council’s commitment to safeguarding the security of citizens, enhancing Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, and countering the threats posed by the terrorist Houthi militias.
Under the decree, the Homeland Shield forces are instructed to advance into the provinces of Hadramawt and Al-Mahra to take over the management of military camps there.
The Council emphasized the necessity of taking all measures that ensure the stability of the country and the integrity of its territory, while adhering to the Yemeni Constitution, the Gulf Initiative, and its implementation mechanisms.
Official sources stated that the decision is based on the constitutional authorities granted by the Yemeni Constitution and Resolution No. 9 of 2022 regarding the formation of the Presidential Leadership Council, stressing that this step aims to achieve national security and strengthen the sovereignty of the Yemeni state.
