The leadership of Taiz Governorate and the security services strongly condemned the armed attack that targeted, at midday on Monday, the motorcade of the Governor and the leadership of the Tur Al-Bahah Military Axis while they were passing through the Najd Al-Barad area below Hayjat Al-Abd.
The governorate’s leadership explained that the attack resulted in the killing of five escorts and two of the attackers, in addition to two others being injured with varying degrees of wounds. It confirmed that security forces are continuing to pursue the remaining perpetrators.
The leadership described the attack as a treacherous and cowardly act aimed at destabilizing security and stability in the governorate, noting that the perpetrators are outlaws serving the agendas of the Houthi militia and seeking to undermine the authority of the state and the safety of citizens.
Taiz leadership affirmed that this crime comes as part of desperate attempts to disrupt the security situation, but stressed that local authorities and security forces will continue to firmly confront anyone who attempts to tamper with the governorate’s security.
It also called on all residents of Taiz to unite and stand together in the face of such acts of sabotage, and to support the efforts of the state and security services to protect stability and continue the path of development.
