Houthi Leader: Red Sea Closure to Israeli Navigation Continues
Yemen Monitor – Newsroom:
The leader of the armed Houthi group, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, announced the continued closure of the Red Sea to Israeli ships, confirming that the port of Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) remains out of service due to ongoing military operations.
In a televised speech, al-Houthi stated that a large number of attacks targeted “Israel” during the second round of fighting that began in mid-Ramadan, involving 309 different types of attack, including ballistic missiles, hypersonic missiles, and drones.
He described the ceasefire agreement between “Israel” and Iran as a “major military defeat for Tel Aviv,” emphasizing that Iran’s missile response terrified the Israeli state and forced it into shelters—an unprecedented incident in the history of the conflict.
The Houthi leader stressed that a military option to topple the Iranian regime or force it into surrender is “unrealistic and impossible,” noting that Tehran would not allow any party to achieve such an outcome.
