Yemen Monitor/ Newsroom:
A Yemeni official stated on Thursday that security and stability represent the fundamental pillar for achieving development in the Hadramawt Governorate, in the eastern part of the country, emphasizing a state of high readiness to face any threats targeting the province.
This came as Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Governor of Hadramawt, and Chairman of the Provincial Security Committee, oversaw a military and security parade of units from the First Military Region, the Nation’s Shield Forces (Dir’ al-Watan), and security services in the city of Seiyun, according to a statement from the governorate’s media office.
The parade was attended by Jumaan Barbah, Undersecretary of Hadramawt Governorate for Valley and Desert Districts; Brigadier General Amer bin Hatyan, Chief of Staff of the First Military Region; Brigadier General Abdullah bin Hubaish, Director General of Security and Police for the Hadramawt Valley and Desert; Brigadier General Mohammed bin Shaiban, Director of State Security; along with other military and security leaders.
In a speech delivered during the event, Al-Khanbashi conveyed the greetings of the Head of the Presidential Leadership Council, Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, and the members of the Council, expressing his appreciation for the role of the military and security forces in maintaining security and stability over the past period.
He stressed that “the wheels of development are essentially based on security and stability,” calling on members of the First Military Region from the governorate who have been absent from their duties to return to their positions and resume their tasks.
He noted that he had directed administrative, military, and security measures to enhance stability and improve basic services, including electricity, infrastructure, school construction, well drilling, and price controls.
Al-Khanbashi emphasized the necessity of raising readiness levels to confront any “sabotage plots” targeting Hadramawt, expressing his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its support in military, security, developmental, and humanitarian aspects.
For his part, Brigadier General Mohammed bin Ghanem, Chief of Operations of the First Military Region, speaking on behalf of the regional commander, said that Al-Khanbashi’s visit reflects the political leadership’s interest in supporting the military and security institutions.
Bin Ghanem confirmed the forces’ readiness to carry out their assigned tasks and face challenges, praising the support of the local authority and the brothers in Saudi Arabia for the military and security forces.
The event included an inspection of the troops, poetry recitations, and displays by various military and security units, attended by brigade and unit commanders as well as civil, military, and security officials.
