In An Extraordinary Meeting in Seiyun… Al-Khonbashi Emphasizes a Unified Hadrami Stance to Face Economic Challenges

Hadramawt Governorate media reported today, Tuesday, that Member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor, Salem Ahmed Al-Khanbashi, arrived in the city of Seiyun to discuss the conditions in the Hadramawt Valley and Desert (Wadi and Sahara).

Following his arrival, he chaired an extraordinary meeting of the Executive Office for the districts of the Hadramawt Valley and Desert to discuss several service, security, and developmental issues.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Governor of Hadramawt for Valley and Desert District Affairs, Jumaan Salmeen Barbah, assistant deputies of the governorate, Commander of the First Military Region Major General Fahd Bamoumen, along with a representative of the Arab Coalition forces and members of the Executive Office.

During the meeting, Al-Khanbashi reviewed the latest developments in the Hadramawt Valley and Desert, providing a summary of his foreign meetings and the local authority’s efforts in addressing core issues and improving service levels.

He pointed to what he described as security and military progress witnessed by the districts following recent events, asserting that the deployment of the “Nation’s Shield” (Dir’ Al-Watan) forces has contributed to enhancing security and stability and restoring state prestige, with support from the Coalition forces led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Regarding the electricity file, Al-Khanbashi explained the imminent arrival of emergency power stations to the Hadramawt Valley and Coast, in addition to emergency quantities of fuel derivatives to support the operation of the electrical grid, contributing to the alleviation of citizens’ suffering.

He also touched upon ongoing efforts to discuss linking the eastern governorates to the Saudi electricity grid, confirming that local authorities in the Hadramawt Valley have been granted broader powers to manage their affairs.

The meeting addressed economic challenges resulting from the suspension of oil exports and the subsequent impact on various service sectors, calling for the strengthening of community cohesion within the governorate.

Furthermore, Al-Khanbashi reviewed efforts to establish the Supreme Coordination Council for Hadrami Forces and Components, aimed at unifying positions and enhancing participation in the South-to-South dialogue in a way that reflects the aspirations of the people of Hadramawt.

For his part, Deputy Governor Barbah welcomed the visit of the Leadership Council member, emphasizing its importance in supporting service and developmental efforts in the Valley and Desert.

The meeting discussed the files of electricity, water, health, education, roads, and infrastructure, in addition to stalled projects and security and military aspects.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Al-Khanbashi directed the implementation of a package of measures to address service imbalances, affirming his continued follow-up to improve the level of services in various districts of the Hadramawt Valley and Desert.
