One Killed, Three Wounded in Clashes Between Military Force and Gunmen in Shabwah

One person was killed and three others were wounded, including an officer and a soldier, today, Saturday, following clashes between a force from the 2nd Naval Infantry Brigade and gunmen in Shabwah, southeastern Yemen.

Local sources stated that citizen Salem Mohammed Lakraa was killed and his brother, Noah Mohammed Lakraa, was wounded during an armed clash with a force belonging to the 2nd Naval Infantry Brigade in the Bir Ali area of Shabwah Governorate.

The sources added that the brigade force attempted to arrest the two individuals before clashes broke out, leaving one dead and three wounded, including an officer from the brigade and his companion.

As of the time of writing, no information was available regarding the background of the military pursuit of the two individuals. Sources reported that the injured were transported to Mukalla for medical treatment.

Yesterday, Shabwah witnessed the withdrawal of a military brigade loyal to the Transitional Council, led by Aseel bin Rashid, after the brigade’s equipment was looted and its camp was left exposed to looting by citizens in the Azzan district.
