Marib Appellate Prosecution Investigates 15 International and Local Organizations in “Funding Corruption” Case

Yemen Monitor / Marib / Exclusive:

The Marib Appellate Prosecution has summoned 15 international and local organizations—including UN agencies—to appear at the prosecution’s headquarters to hear statements from their representatives regarding the ongoing case described as the “funding corruption file,” following the acceptance of the case and the official opening of an investigation.

According to a memorandum issued by the Marib Appellate Prosecution to the governorate’s Planning Office on November 11, 2025, by the Primary Public Funds Prosecution, the prosecution had previously set a date for the organizations’ appearance. However, the deadline passed without any response. The memo stressed that the prosecution is awaiting their appearance within one week from the date of notification before taking the necessary legal measures.

Dr. Abdulqader Al-Kharrraz, an activist in the “We Will Not Stay Silent” campaign—focused on monitoring foreign funding allocated to Yemen—published the prosecution’s memorandum. He called on the organizations to comply with the law and the transparency they advocate, and to present any statements and documents they have before the prosecution to ensure the integrity of the procedures, stressing that any additional delay could result in legal action.

The memorandum listed the 15 organizations as follows:

  • Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA)
  • United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)
  • World Food Programme (WFP)
  • United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)
  • Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)
  • UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR)
  • International Organization for Migration (IOM)
  • UN Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
  • World Health Organization (WHO)
  • DeepRoot Foundation
  • Resonate Yemen
  • Governance Organization
  • Sana’a Center for Strategic Studies
  • SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties
  • United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)

The memorandum noted that attendance is required to “hear their statements regarding the case under consideration,” emphasizing that failure to appear will be met with legal action.
