The Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance has announced granting next Sunday an official holiday for all employees of public service units in central and local authorities, in place of the International Labor Day holiday.
The ministry clarified in a statement that this decision comes in accordance with the Law on Holidays and Official Vacations, as May 1st, Labor Day, falls on Friday, which is a weekly day off, necessitating the transfer of the holiday to Sunday, corresponding to May 3, 2026.
It confirmed that work will officially resume on the following Monday, after the end of the compensatory holiday.
On this occasion, the Ministries of Civil Service and Information extended congratulations to the political leadership and all workers in Yemen, in appreciation of their role and efforts in various fields of work.
