Egyptian Foreign Minister: Talks with the European Union Addressed Developments in Yemen, Gaza, and Libya

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, and Emigrants, Badr Abdelatty, said on Saturday that there is consensus between Egypt and the European Union on a large number of issues, stressing that relations between the two sides represent a “comprehensive strategic partnership” based on achieving mutual interests.
This came during a joint press conference he held with the EU Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, at the headquarters of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the New Administrative Capital.
Abdelatty explained that the talks touched upon the current situation in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, in addition to developments in Yemen, Libya, and Lebanon.
He added that the two sides also discussed freedom of navigation in accordance with the rules of international law, within the framework of ongoing consultation on regional and international issues of common interest.
