Marib Police: Journalist Hamoud Hazaa Detained Following an Incident with the Minister of Information

The General Directorate of Marib Police, quoting a security source, stated that the journalist and officer in the National Defense Service Department, Hamoud Hazaa, has been detained by the military security of the Ministry of Defense since yesterday, following an incident that reportedly witnessed an attempted assault on the Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Moammar Al-Eryani, during a public event held in Marib Governorate.
The security source explained that Hazaa’s detention came on the background of “his attempt to assault the minister, insult him, and use unacceptable language,” as he put it, during a public event supporting national alignment organized by the Ibb Resistance Council in Marib the day before yesterday.
The source emphasized that Hazaa’s detention “came as a result of that incident, and has nothing to do with his journalistic work or media activity,” according to his statement.
