Yemeni Ministry of Endowment: Over 12,000 Yemeni Pilgrims Arrive in the Holy Land

The Yemeni Ministry of Endowment and Guidance announced on Monday that 12,576 Yemeni pilgrims have arrived in the Holy Land in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This figure, recorded as of May 10, 2026, covers the current Hajj season of 1447 AH.

Data released by the Hajj and Umrah Sector’s Operations Room highlighted a variety of transport methods used by the pilgrims:

  • Land Routes: 7,848 pilgrims entered via land border crossings.
  • Air Travel: 3,911 pilgrims arrived on direct flights to Saudi airports.
  • International Arrivals: 817 pilgrims arrived by air from locations outside of Yemen.

Daily statistics show a significant surge in arrivals over recent days. The peak was recorded on May 8 with 2,925 arrivals, followed by 2,898 on May 9, and 2,353 on May 10.

In a related development, committees of the Yemeni Hajj Mission for the 1447 AH season held separate meetings to approve field-work mechanisms and assign specific tasks. These discussions focused on field inspection plans for pilgrim housing, inter-committee coordination, and the activation of women’s roles within the mission.

The committees also addressed directives issued by the Minister of Endowment and Guidance and Chairman of the Higher Hajj Committee, Sheikh Turki bin Abdullah al-Wada’i. The Minister stressed a strict ban on raising any slogans or inciting sectarian, political, or regional tensions, emphasizing that pilgrims must remain fully dedicated to their religious rites and adhere strictly to the regulations and instructions governing the Hajj pilgrimage.
