Yemeni Ministry of Interior Discusses Enhancing “Digital Infrastructure” for the Security System with Ministry of Telecommunications

The Yemeni Ministry of Interior discussed with a technical team from the Ministry of Telecommunications on Tuesday in Aden ways to develop the digital infrastructure and evaluate the efficiency of communications and information systems to enhance field security performance.

According to a post on the Aden Police official Facebook account, the meeting examined the readiness level of networks and technical systems used in policing, as well as the requirements needed to modernize them to keep pace with the demands of modern security work.

The meeting—chaired by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for the Police Sector, Major General Mohammed Musaed al-Amir, and attended by the Director of Aden Security, Major General Mutahar al-Shuaibi, and a technical committee from the Ministry of Telecommunications—reviewed challenges facing the current communications system and available modernization opportunities. It emphasized the importance of integration between the Ministries of Interior and Telecommunications to achieve a “digital transformation” that contributes to faster security response times.

The meeting stressed the necessity of continued coordination to bolster digital readiness, considering it a fundamental pillar for developing security services and consolidating stability in the city.

The meeting was attended by the Director of Communications at the Ministry of Interior, Brigadier General Mohammed Musa, Head of Joint Operations, Colonel Abdulhakim Batiseer, Director of the Information Center at the Security Directorate, Colonel Arif al-Aqour, representative of the Ministry of Telecommunications, Engineer Tawfiq bin Lakser, and an engineering team and specialists from both sides.
