Taiz Honors 150 Workers on International Workers’ Day

Today in Taiz, 150 male and female workers were honored on the occasion of International Workers’ Day during a ceremony organized by the governorate’s Office of Social Affairs.
During the ceremony, attended by Deputy Governor Mohammed Al-Sanwi, Deputy Governor Al-Mikhlafi praised the achievements made by workers throughout various stages of the national struggle. He commended their dedication and sincerity despite the difficult living conditions the country is facing due to the war waged by the terrorist Houthi militias, which has burdened both citizens and workers.
The Deputy Governor emphasized the importance of creating a suitable environment for workers, improving working conditions, and ensuring their full rights in accordance with the laws and regulations governing labor. He noted that this honoring serves as a gesture of loyalty and gratitude, as well as an incentive for further contribution.
For his part, the Director of the Office of Social Affairs and Labor, Fouad Al-Faqih, pointed out that celebrating International Workers’ Day embodies workers’ rights and sacrifices, as well as their significant role in building societies.
Additionally, the head of the General Confederation of Trade Unions, Ali Atiya, congratulated the workers honored this year, affirming the union’s commitment to workers’ issues and rights.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, outstanding workers were honored with certificates of appreciation as well as cash and in-kind prizes.
